Refund Policy
1. SHIPPING, RETURNS & REPLACEMENTS
A. Weather Conditions
Wine is a perishable commodity that can be adversely affected by heat and cold.
- Somnium Wine Company generally does not ship wines when weather conditions could compromise product integrity.
- If you request shipment during extreme weather periods, you do so at your own risk, and Somnium is not responsible for damage caused by heat, cold, or transit delays, except where caused by Somnium’s error.
- Somnium reserves the right to hold shipments until weather conditions are suitable unless written authorization is provided to release the order.
B. Order Processing & Delivery
- Orders placed by 9:00 AM Pacific Time are typically processed the following business day.
- Upgraded shipping selected after 9:00 AM Pacific may not process until the next day.
- Once your order ships, title passes to you, and you become responsible for the wine.
- Tracking numbers are emailed once the package is scanned by the carrier.
- You are responsible for all costs related to:
- Delivery delays outside Somnium’s control
- Requests to hold or redirect packages
- Address changes after shipment (subject to a $20 redirect fee)
C. Undeliverable Shipments
If wine cannot be delivered and is returned to our warehouse (except where caused by Somnium’s error):
- A $50 return/restocking fee will be applied to the credit card on file, plus re-shipping costs.
- If you choose not to reship, Somnium will refund the total order amount less shipping and restocking fees.
D. Returns, Cancellations & Refunds
- Once an order has shipped, it cannot be canceled or refunded, except in cases of Somnium error.
- Somnium does not issue refunds for delays, incorrect quantities, or address errors not caused by Somnium.
- All sales are final once shipped unless product damage or error is verified.
E. Damaged or Flawed Wines
- Somnium will replace or refund any bottle that is damaged or flawed.
- Evidence of damage may be requested, and unfinished wine may need to be returned before processing a refund or replacement.
- At your request, a refund may be issued instead of replacement, minus shipping and handling, after receipt and verification of the wine.
F. Corked Wines
- Somnium will replace any “corked” bottle with the current vintage.
- If more than one bottle in an order is corked, the entire package must be returned for verification and replacement.
